Welcome to Expanding Horizons

Promoting Rights, Choice and Independence

We have a proven track record of success supporting people with a forensic history within community based services, particularly those on S37 / 41. Our flexible support packages respond to people’s needs, enabling them to build on their life skills and coping strategies thus reducing the long term need for support. We fully understand the complexities and legislative context of community based placements.

Comprehensive risk assessment and multi-agency working is at the centre of our approach to supporting people with such complex needs. We have developed excellent professional working relationships with MAPPA, Probation services and community forensic services and have established positive working protocols with local YOS teams.

At Expanding Horizons our Individual Support Plans aim to provide the people we support with greater participation and more choice and control over their lives. Encouraging people to have a belief in reaching their full potential regardless of their ability within a structured, holistic environment. Our staff have a wealth of experience and expertise in supporting people who have a dual diagnosis of mental health or challenging needs associated with their learning disability.

We also have a range of ‘Step-Down’ services enabling people to move on to greater independence within agreed timescales as part of their overall package of care.
