New self-contained flat opens at our Clerk Green service

A new self-contained flat has been developed at our Clerk Green service in Maesycwmmer, Caerphilly. Over the last 7 weeks, we have been working on converting a garage at the back of the property, into a modern living space with a bedroom/living area, kitchen, and bathroom.
This transformation includes insulating and damp proofing the building, laying new flooring, fitting new double-glazing windows along with all new plumbing and electrics.
Ellis Jenkins said
“We are so pleased with how this project has gone, the vision has been achieved and we are very grateful to our fantastic team of trusted partners for their expert craftmanship and impeccable organisational skills along the way.”
This development takes the capacity of our Clerk Green service up to 4 service users. However, the development of the new space is the most recent success story of a long-term strategy to provide opportunities for independent living in an assisted environment.
Ellis added
“We know there is demand for these types of spaces, where the service users are in an supported environment but are still living independently. We have created a modern space where an individual can feel at home, whilst utilising the wonderful support network of Expanding Horizons right on their doorstop.”
